Faith Life

Catholic Education to Me

Catholic education is not just a series of religion lessons. It is a way of teaching in which we put Jesus in the center of our student’s lives. In Catholic schools we are given the opportunity for the education of the whole child. WE are able to continue on our Faith jouneys together.  This enables our students to grow as strong faithful contributors to society. It is an educational philosophy in which we encourage a child’s social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual growth.

I believe in providing students with a 21st-Century education that is differentiated to their unique needs and gifts, so that they recognize the various God-given gifts they have to offer to their community. I think that an education that is rich in our Catholic traditions and truths will allow students to be confident in whatever path they take.

Faith at School:

  • I make a point of being at monring prayer in the staff room every morning, regardless of everything I feel I have to get done. I am also on the schedule to lead morning prayer.

  • My classes have led school wide celebrations such as 3rd Week of  Advent and Holy Thursday.

  • I attend the District Faith days.

Faith in the Classroom:

  • I am constantly trying to incorporate faith in cross curricular ways. For example in our science unit on plants we will focus some time on appreciatiosn of God's creations.

  • I am very open to God and passing on Catholic Faith to my Students.

  • Morning prayers in my classroom are relatable to students. We explore "sticky situations" they may face in every day life and relate it to a verse from the Bible.
